Mr. Platzner joined Futures in May of 2019. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management with a core concentration in Political Science from Roger Williams University and is currently seeking admission into a Master’s program for Licensed Mental Health Counseling.
Barrett’s passion for helping individuals recovering from the disease of addiction led to him accepting his first position in treatment as a Sr. Addiction Counselor at St. Vincent’s Westchester (NY) in 2013. He is a Credentialed Alcoholism and Substance Abuse Counselor in the state of New York and a Certified Addiction Counselor in state of Florida. Mr. Platzner is dedicated to promoting long-term recovery for clients by building continuing care plans that emphasize life skills and support for early recovery. Mr. Platzner’s enthusiasm and professionalism enable him to evoke a positive change in those around him, while also developing a network of strong relationships with quality aftercare providers.
Outside of his professional passion, Barrett enjoys basketball, fitness and the fine beaches of South Florida. He is an active advocate within the local community, especially supporting initiatives to directly assist those families encountering substance use disorders.
