Ms. Keffner has been working with Futures since 2015. She holds a B.S. in Business Administration and Marketing which she earned at Rowan University and M.A. in Art Therapy from Drexel University. Ms. Keffner is a Board Certified Registered Art Therapist (ATR-BC), a Certified Addictions Professional (CAP), and an Internationally Certified Drug and Alcohol Counselor (ICADC).
Ms. Keffner credits her arts-focused education for the creative therapeutic approach she brings to her position as Lead Therapist at Futures Outpatient Center. She began her career in the mental and behavioral health field 11 years ago as an art therapist, where she first experienced the transformative power that a compassionate, client-centered, humanistic therapeutic relationship would have on her clients. Ms. Keffner worked as an art therapist at various clinical/hospital settings in Southern New Jersey, Eastern Pennsylvania, and South Eastern Florida, before she joined the Futures team.
At Futures Outpatient Center, aside from counseling clients in a one-to-one setting, Ms. Keffner conducts psychotherapeutic groups, including a weekly art therapy group. Ms. Keffner Is also a member of the American Art Therapy Association (AATA) and the Florida Art Therapy Association (FATA). She works closely with clients and their family members to ensure that their continuing care plans support goals put in place for a healthy and happy sober life.
