Robert Kanter is a respected international recovery advocate that is addressing the opioid epidemic in the media. He is an empowering storyteller and visionary who is recognized as an authentic voice of inspiration for individuals and families painfully effected by substance use disorder. Robert has been interviewed on Canadian national television, TRT World and Al Jazeera television and has shared his journey of recovery on numerous podcasts including NPR. He has authored articles for Psychology Today, The Jerusalem Post, Shingetsu News Agency and Parents.com and has spoken on behalf of congressional leaders in Washington supporting SUD funding and treatment legislation. 

Robert is an unshakeable and passionate recovery advocate who openly shares his story of how he and his daughter both recovered form alcohol and substance use disorders and proudly carries his message of hope to individuals in need of quality and compassionate care.

Robert’s responsibilities at Futures include developing strategic partnerships, community relations, referent relations and business development in the New York City region. Robert is also proud of his service as a volunteer for the American Red Cross where he provided medical assistance for first responders at Ground Zero on September 11, 2001.
