Treatment is most effective when client and clinican share the same vision. At Orenda, that vision extends to every aspect of mental and physical well-being and realizing it is a team of experts collaborating to optimize care in real time. Orenda’s high staff-to-client ratio and collegial dynamic allow every care team member to identify and meet patient needs quickly.
Overseeing each client’s comprehensive health is medical director, Dr. Gloria Dunkin, an experienced addiction psychiatrist who is a member of the Florida Psychiatric Society, the American Medical Association, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the American Society of Addiction Medicine with more than 15 years of experience treating patients for addiction and mental health disorders. Dr. Dunkin and her team of medical professionals regularly monitor the health and clinical advancement of each client and work to reduce discomfort safely.
Orenda’s twenty-four-hour on-site medical team works alongside Dr. Dunkin and in close tandem with clients to provide a wide range of services including medically-supervised detoxification, infusion therapy, psychotropic medication management and stabilization of chronic and acute conditions. Complete medical history, physical, psychiatric diagnostic surveys, and pharmacogenomic and neuropsychological testing inform patient care plans. Orenda partners with Florida’s premier hospital systems and specialized care providers if additional medical services are required.
Each member of the Orenda care team is a compassionate professional with years of hands-on client experience and is attuned to the culture and purpose of the program’s values and mission.
Nurses play a crucial role throughout addiction treatment — especially when medical detoxification is required. From the initial assessment to oversight and completion of medical detox, our highly skilled nurses closely and compassionately assist each client. Orenda maintains a high staff-to-client ratio to ensure constant access to nursing care.
Our nursing team partners closely with other members of our medical and therapy teams to monitor patient health and assist in all areas of treatment. Nurses may also communicate with existing or prior medical service providers to ensure continuity of care, and to avoid lapses in medications or other aspects of ongoing treatment.
Pharmacogenomic testing uses a patient’s genomic makeup to indicate which medications may be most effective. This testing may be used t optimize the types of medications prescribed, dosages, and it may be used to identify and avoid potential adverse reactions. Use of pharmacogenomic testing can reduce or eliminate prescription trial and error and make the road to recovery much smoother for those battling depression, anxiety, substance use disorders, and other mental health conditions.
IV Infusion Therapy
Orenda partners with Dr. Matteo Rosselli, D.O. to provide intravenous “IV” infusion services to treat dehydration and vitamin depletion caused by alcohol overconsumption, physical overexertion, extensive travel, stress, or illnesses. This minimally invasive procedure delivers vitamins, supplements, and medication into the bloodstream intravenously. This hydrates the body and fights against common ailments. This can enhance the body’s ability to perform athletically; promotes healthy aging and overall wellness, and boosts the immune system. IV infusion bypasses the gastrointestinal tract which increases the absorption and potency of the delivered formula. All treatments are administered by experienced, board-certified physicians and registered nurses, ensuring both safety and comfort.
