Fran Parra is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with over 30 years’ experience in substance abuse, domestic violence and mental health. Fran received her Bachelor’s Degree from Florida Atlantic University in Social Work and her Master’s Degree from Florida International University in Social Work. She has worked across a variety of treatment settings including; private practice, inpatient and outpatient facilities. Fran is also a qualified Supervisor in Florida, able to oversee registered interns as they work towards gaining experience to be fully licensed Social Workers.
Fran has testified in court as an expert witness for domestic violence. She has been featured on the news to educate on the signs and symptoms of abusive relationships and has served as a guest speaker at a number of universities. Fran lived in South America for 15 years with a deep understanding of local customs and cultures, that allows for diverse perspectives in today’s environment.
Fran believes in working in partnership with clients for the focused development of therapy, utilizing their strengths to help sort out their challenges and achieve their goals.
She works to explore improving relationships through teaching individual’s accountability, responsibilities, and how to establish boundaries and empower independence.
Fran focuses on the influencing aspects of an individual’s life that impacts their well-being and recovery for a good aftercare plan. This includes a support system such a psychiatrist, therapist, as well as family education, which is as important for a successful outcome.
