Trauma experienced by first responders is responsible for epidemic rates of mental health disorders, addiction, and suicide. More is learned every day about how to effectively help first responders process trauma and treat its effects. This symposium shares crucial insights and education with first responders, organizations that support them, and medical professionals who provide their care. Foremost experts in first-responder stress and trauma will discuss the role of trauma in the first responder workplace, how to identify and treat symptoms, and how to develop systems to reduce trauma’s negative effects.
