Alexis Abrams, LMHC, MCAP

Clinical Director of Mental Health Program

Alexis brings over ten years of addiction and mental health experience. Alexis attended Nova Southeastern University for both her Bachelor’s Degree in Science with a focus on Psychology and her Master’s Degree in Mental Health Counseling. Alexis is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and is a Master’s Certified Addiction Professional who is trained in EMDR and is also a Qualified Supervisor.

Throughout her career she has worked with various programs, specializing in gender specific issues, mental health, and trauma. For over two years, Alexis has developed, supervised, and lead a mental health program and she desires to continue to bring that guidance and support to the Futures team. Alexis brings organizational skills, structure, and a collaborative outlook to her role offering direct supervision to the mental health clinical team, clinical programming, and patient/client interventions. Alexis has experience ensuring compliance with AHCA and insurance standards and will act as a liaison between clinical and other departments (medical, UR, MHT, etc.).

Working in the field of mental health, Alexis is inspired by watching patient’s growth as they go through the treatment process and begin their journey of self-development. Alexis normalizes mental health issues and uses compassion, education and clinical strategies to work with patients on breaking down self-stigma and build acceptance, self-love and social skills.
